Seemingly far away and worlds apart, the African continent is often closer than one would think. The growing urbanization makes it so that metropole cities like Johannesburg, Nairobi, Mombasa & Dakar are some of the most thriving, eclectic and inspiring cities the world has to offer at this point in time. It’s this fresh, daring and self-assured attitude we tried to capture in our Urban Tribes collection for S/S ‘20. What immediately jumps out is the richness of the color palette. Next to the tones you’ve come to know Bellerose for, there’s fierce cyclamen pink, deep lazuli blue and strong colors like masai red and baobab green. Fabrics go from light and supple – think viscose, cupro, cotton & linen blends - to solid twill and denim. The same kind of diversity that is also showcased in our designs. Our goal this season is to truly capture the essence of this rich and inspiring cultures found in Africa and we hope you enjoy it as much as we do.
